About my prophetic art and writing:
My artwork is often a manifestation of my relationship to God. I allow the Holy Spirit to abide in me, move in me, and reign in me. No, I am not perfect, nor do I abide 100% of the time, but I strive for this. As I abide with God the Father/Holy Spirit/Jesus often speaks to me and expresses himself through my art and sometimes directly through prophecy. More often I get a written word then a spoken word for the body of Christ, but I get spoken words at times for individuals. I try to let God lead this and not the other way around.
I go about my prophetic artwork in different ways. Sometimes God speaks to me as I read a passage in the Bible and says, “I want you to make art about this.” I keep a journal of different things he has asked me to make. Sometimes he will give me a message such as, “I want you to create a picture which will tell them about my love.” He’ll give me somewhat of a vision of what to do. Other times, I will start out creating art in a spontaneous manner and as I am in the process of making art, the Holy Spirit will actually start speaking to me and showing me things in the artwork; he may point to things I didn’t know I was creating and direct me to develop it further and speak to me about some issue I am going through or about something he wants others to know. Sometimes God will speak to me about a piece and give me a message after I have created it. Sometimes I will create a piece during worship for the express purpose of worship. As I create the prophetic art I ask God what he would have me do and try to be sensitive to what he might say.
Not every piece of art created is prophetic or expressly made for the glory of God. Some art is simply a comfort for me. However, even when art is simply a comfort there is thankfulness in my heart that God game me such a gift, that He has allowed me to heal so much of my trauma through my art and find joy and creativity even when times have been dark, dull, or dismal.
I try to be pretty forthcoming about my art pieces. If there’s a story or a message about the art I will say so in the description of the piece at my gallery. If there’s not I may not say anything or I may simply share what it is about.
I will be forever thankful to God for the gifts he gave me and for who He is to me. Without Him I would be nothing.
If you have enjoyed my art or written words, please give thanks to Him. For He is good always. He knows what He is doing.
As you go about looking through the art and reading my words, ask God what he would say to you. Ask Him what he wants you to know. Ask Him to show himself to you.
God always rewards those that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)
May the God of peace be with you always and uplift your heart!
Love in Christ,
Cassandra Donnelly
