Introduction and why I created this blog.

CassandraHi! My name is Cassandra Donnelly and this is my blog. I am an artist, art therapist, worshipper~creative person.

Here you will find original artwork, testimonies, words from God, and inspiration. My goal is to share what God is teaching me, showing me, or doing in me to inspire hope, imagination, creativity, and healing.  I feel called to do this through my art and writing, therefore the Holy Spirit has creative channels to move through, hence the name, Creative Passages. He gave me this name specifically about 6 years ago before I had an online art site, gallery, or blog. This is my blog, but feel free to look around at my art site as well.

I don’t have any special degrees in theology and I’m not a Bible scholar, but I do hear from the Lord, and he has anointed me to convey his heart through my art and writings.

Professionally, I do work as an art therapist in a psychiatric hospital where I run art therapy groups to facilitate mental and emotional healing. I have 10 years experience with this, working with all kinds of psychiatric and behavioral problems. I’ve heard many sad stories, and I know many of us are struggling to find our way, to find peace and happiness.

Life can be hard sometimes, but there is hope. That Hope is found in God, his son Jesus who died to save us and rose again, and through the Holy Spirit. They are all three part of the same person.

I consider myself a work in progress. I look at God as the ultimate beautiful, masterful Creator and He knew what he was doing when he created me and all of us. He is continuing to refine me and his work in me is not done. Although it can be painful at times, it really is very special and  exciting to know that if I submit to God I can achieve the ultimate destiny that I was created for, the abundant, good life filled to overflowing! There is so much goodness and beauty in the world that He created if you choose to find it and notice it. As an artist, I tend to notice it! Not just in the beautiful landscapes and imagery, but in the people he created, too! It seems like having God inside me gives me special eyes to see and understand this goodness. The more I can abide in Him, it seems the more I can see the way He does. The more I know his heart. Any one of us can have his eyes,  hear from him, and feel him. Any one of us could choose to follow him and abide in him. He is no respecter of persons. It’s an exciting life!

He’s brought me through alot. There’s been a lot of trauma and hardships in my life, in particular past sexual abuse, but God has shown me how to overcome. I’ve overcome so much, and I am still overcoming! None of us have to stay victims to life or to circumstances. God sent his son to die on the cross to set us free from slavery (all kinds of slavery-sin, addictions, trauma, physical sickness, fear, poverty, lack, etc., etc.) and no more will I go back to that land! God wants us to shed our slavery mentalities. He freed us once and for all, and all we have to do is believe it and follow Him! He is so good.

Hopefully, if you read my blog, you will be inspired to walk in victory, too!

May the peace and love of God touch your hearts and may you never be the same again!
