Ministry
My art supports a homeless ministry called the Fig Tree Haven. 30 percent of my profits from my art will go towards this cause and will continue to do so.

This is a new ministry in the works, expanding from a soup kitchen to a day time shelter. The plan is for the shelter to become a place where the homeless can go in order to get out of the elements, be safe, warm, fed, enjoy a sense of community, and experience God’s love and goodness. The plan also is to teach them about God and make disciples which will gladly serve God in total freedom. We have a heart to see them not only get saved, delivered, and set free, but to see them grow, become fruitful, and to walk into the full destiny God designed for them.

What part do I play? For now, I am an intercessor and encourager. I've aided in delivering groceries/resources, etc. Eventually, I may also become a teacher/speaker as I have briefly done this in the past. This ministry started out as a soup kitchen/service where the homeless came to feed both their bellies and the spirits with God’s provision and love. After they ate, their was a small service/teaching. The ministry has undergone name changes and location changes and is still in the mist of more changes. It is now an official non-profit organization. We have just located a buidling as a starting point-as of Jan 1, 2010. The building is in the very beginning stages of rennovation.  At this point it is being cleaned out. In mean time we are  continuing to minister to the homeless, poor, needy, and formerly homeless (as God has already blessed many) with love, blankets, clothing, food, encouragement,  biblical guidance, and prayer, etc. Once the ministry is more fully established I will link to the website so anyone who wants to can support the cause of feeding and ministering to the hungry, needy, and homeless in Hampton roads, particularly the Hampton area.

I will eventually be auctioning off some of my art for this cause and trying to unite other artists to do the same. This can only happen in God's timing and process, however, so I am waiting on His leading.

"Is this not the fast which I choose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke? Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into the house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? " Isaiah 58:66
